Founded in 2022, Tonic Wellness began as a boutique spa brand rooted in authenticity and care. As our success grew, so did the demand from hotel groups and investors for expert spa management. That’s how Tonic Spa Operator was born, to help properties achieve exceptional spa performance without operational complexity.
Behind our success are two visionaries with decades of combined global experience:
Ruby Sanches – Co-Founder & Spa Director
Ruby Sanches is an internationally certified massage educator, spa consultant, and wellness entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the beauty, spa, and wellness industry. Originally from the Philippines and now based in Sri Lanka, she has dedicated her career to helping people heal through the power of therapeutic touch while mentoring the next generation of wellness professionals.
Her training spans internationally recognized institutions in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and she is an International Massage Association (IMA) Certified Massage Teacher. Ruby has represented Sri Lanka at the World Championship in Massage in Copenhagen, showcasing her Eastern-inspired massage techniques on the global stage.
Known for her signature “Ruby’s Magic Touch,” she blends Eastern and Western massage techniques with mindfulness and holistic wellness principles to create deeply restorative treatments. She is passionate about continuous learning and has trained extensively across Asia and beyond to refine her craft.
As Co-Founder and Spa Director of Tonic Wellness, Ruby leads therapist training, spa development, and operational excellence, helping create world-class wellness experiences while empowering therapists with internationally recognized skills.
Ruby’s mission is simple: to heal with her hands, inspire through education, and empower others to build successful careers in the global wellness industry.
David Swannell – Co-Founder & Chairman
A former London investment banker turned hospitality entrepreneur, David brings business strategy, financial acumen, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
